What We Can
Do For You

The Bakersfield Adult School’s Career Resource Department is part of the Kern High School District. We provide education and youth development experiences for in-school youth, ages 16-18 and out-of-school young adults, ages 18-24. If you are interested in receiving job training at no charge and getting help finding work we are here to help. Students in many of our programs received incentives for completing various requirements. Also… after the student is placed on the job we pay for their first 250 hours of work. This gives employers an opportunity to see how our participants perform on fit in at their specific job.

Kern High School District, Career Resource Department received $2,631,868 in funding for program year 2023-2024. 47% or $1,253,500 from the US Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The balance of the funds comes from the state Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), $300,000 and CalWORKS $1,078,368.
